One star rating for my first and last visit!! So disappointed! First off be prepared for long lines and food running out at 5pm. The cashier was poorly prepared, he knew nothing about the menu and easily frazzled. One of cooks had to stop to help with the line. Even one of the owners looked at the disorder and didnt help at all. I ordered crab fries but they were just cheese fries...$12 down the drain. I have had better crab fries from a pizza shop with LUMP crab meat for less money. I asked the cashier if the fries were mad with lump crab meat or a crab dip mixture. HE LIED!! This place is disorganized and they need more staff to better serve customers. Sorry just not worth it. I had high hopes for it too bad this place is a disappointment.

We drove over from the office to try this place and WERE NOT disappointed - WOW! Delicious Po Boys! We tried several types (including the salmon Caesar salad and the fried shrimp) and they were not only delicious, but the portions are very generous... I expected my salmon caesar salad Po Boy to be mostly salad with a small amount of salmon on top - NOPE! Try the reverse: this baby was overflowing with salmon, with a token amount of lettuce layering the bottom of the roll, and a generous portion of parmesan cheese melted atop the enormous (and exactly right!) portion of salmon. When I told the staff that the food was delicious, they seemed pleasantly surprised - folks, don't be surprised, you've got a real winner here! Five stars, will definitely eat again (and again).

Tonight I called in an order for the chicken and cornbread waffle and a cup of the cream of crab soup. I come to pickup my food and it turns out there's no more cornbread batter. I was offered the regular waffle as a substitute and very much regret getting it. First I was charged for the cornbread waffle even though I was given the regular waffle. Yes it's only a dollar difference, but it's the principle. Second I had to wait for my order since it wasn't ready. Third I got home excited to eat and the waffle was chewy. So so so sad. Ate half and threw it away. Soup was pretty good. A little spicy/salty but the crackers helped. Ugh... Torn. I normally love the food here but it's rather pricey for me to be sad after eating.

Very very very good!!! It was my first time going and most definitely will not be the last. I got the Salmon 1137 platter. I would have given 5 stars but they ran out of the lump crab meat but they replaced it with shrimp which was still delicious. I plan on going back again to support this place. Everything tastes fresh and just top notch!!!

The honey lemon pepper wings were DELICIOUS! My wife loved the catfish po boy. .. the salmon caesar was a little dry according to my sister and son. Everything was fresh. . Hot. .. large portions! ! Very clean. I'll definitely be going back.

This cafe is well appointed and their honey lemon pepper wings were very good. The wait times were a little long and the prices seem a little high. I tried their specialty the cafe 1137 platter with shrimp and chicken. The shrimp and chicken were well seasoned but their special sauce just tasted of heavy cream I dont think I will be getting that again

I love Café 1137 and really wish there were more places like it. The food is high quality and has so much flavor! Is it more expensive than your average take out restaurant? YES. But today for $19 I had a large piece of tilapia with 4 grilled shrimp over rice with corn, sauce and lump crab meat. I'm sure I've paid more for similar dishes at "nice" restaurants and the taste, flavor, and quality was not as good as Café 1137's dish. I've been on numerous occasions & planned to write a review weeks ago. My only beef was going to be that the platter portions (choice of shrimp, chicken, tilapia or salmon over rice w/sauce, corn & crab) were too large and too expensive. Well when I visited today they had already made the switch! Now you still get the same amount of meat, but with less rice. It's perfect now! I think the tilapia platter used to be about $18 and is now $12 (I added shrimp for an extra $6). I love the rice, but they were giving me enough to feed my whole family! This proves they are LISTENING to their customers and making changes and improvements. They've also upgraded their Styrofoam to go containers to nice plastic containers with a secure lid so there is no leakage (sauce is amazing, can't lose any of it!). I'm a really big fan of the platters, but the wings are amazing and while I've never tried the subs they look great. Follow them on Instagram or call for daily specials. This place is definitely a hidden gem in my mind.

Good food but you will be paying a premium. The place is hard to find if you have never been here before l. My daughter has a swim class in the area so I decided to give it a try. The parking lot is small and it's in a mini strip with 3 other businesses. Its a small place and a few bar tables and stools in there. Looks more like a carry out place. I heard the shrimp po boy and cream of crab soup was pretty good so I ordered both. I got a drink with it and it came up to 23 and some change. Had me gasping because I didn't expect it to be that much. I should have known it would be expensive since there aren't many prices on the menu. The food came out after about 25 min. I could see them prepare it so it was actually prepared fresh. Everything had a great taste and I would come back anytime.

This is a carry out, so if you have expectations of fine dining or a restaurant then you're misconstrued. As far as carry out's goes then this place meet my expectations. So far, I've only tried the grilled shrimp Po boy and lemon honey wings and they've both left me satisfied. Also, the passion fruit tea is just right; not too sweet.

Had the shrimp and grits. It was pretty good. The grits were a little bland. The sweet tea is very good. The prices are high. The wait was long so it's better to call ahead. I would return and try some of their other dishes. Their menu is a little small.

It truly pains me to write this review I was so excited and Gung ho based off the great reviews and wonderfully presented food platters but today I was indeed disappointed in my order today which was the salmon platter with shrimp added in the platter comes grilled salmon and seasoned steamed shrimp on a bed of I believe coconut rice with corn and lump crab meat all combined in a creamy sauce. Now this platter looks and smells mouth watering but fork or spoon to mouth and the flavors fell flat! The salmon and shrimp was seasoned but lacked juices from cooked correctly fish and shrimp. The coconut rice was delicious it has the creamy texture the resembles a risotto but it isn't thick and heavy unless cold. Surprisingly the crab meat that is in the platter is lump and a good size to be coming from a cafe such as this but I so wish that the sauce and the crab meat didn't vanish on my taste buds they definitely need to pump up the flavor in this particular supposedly savory dish! Lol now that I'm writing I just realized the platter is supposed to come with a Cajun cornbread too bad I can't right a review on that . Unfortunately this experience has made me a skeptic I would like to try their crabby fries but I don't want to be disappointed yet again maybe I'll just stick to the playoffs for that fix.

The food is delicious here. It is a little pricy. I don't like that they never know the specials when you call at the time they open for the day. The shrimp po boy is delicious and the platters are good. I have been wanting to try the lobster roll but you never know when it's a special.

I have been here at least four times since they opened and seriously the food is great. The specialty is the 1137 platter which you can get with chicken, tilapia or salmon. It's a grilled choice of protein over a delicious rice with a garlic herb sauce that includes lump crab meat. It's good and a great portion size. My wife loves the tea and lemonade which are both delicious but not your average drink. They have fruit pieces that transform them. My son isn't a fish eater but destroyed a salmon Caesar sub which had a great texture because the fish has crispy bits yet still tender and moist and not over powering. My daughter had the shrimp po boy and wasn't a fan of the Cole slaw because she likes hers more sweet but the shrimp were large and flavorful with a good spice. The chicken 1137 was pretty flavorful but just a tad over done, but the bread that comes with it was Toasted and good. I personally am not a huge fan of the old boy wings but my family enjoyed them. They also have locally made desserts when you can get them because they go fast! Cupcakes come from tanikas whimsy cakes and they are great if you have ever had them. The service is friendly but it can seem to take a little while because food is cooked fresh to order and they have been busy! However it is well worth the wait! This is one of my favorite places around town to eat.

I tried them for the first time after hearing about them. I appreciated being greeted when I walked in. So many restaurants fall short on good customer service. I didnt like how all the prices weren't on display, maybe they just didn't get around to writing them on the chalkboard. I got the chicken platter. It was ok but didnt care for the "special sauce".Tasted like just a heavy cream. I would be willing to go back and try something else.

This spot sits directly across from the Windsor Inn, but still kinda easy to miss because it is so tucked away. But once you do find it, you will enter an establishment where you are pleasantly greeted right away, and all staff members are uniformly and sharply dressed. And also you can't help but be impressed with the layout and decor, and it's obvious that no detail was left to chance because even the bar stools and floor fans are a matching shade of black licorice that I haven't seen in years. Speaking of bar stools, they should have one positioned right in front of the cash register because when you get the shock of the total price of your order it's best you are seated! Since this is a carry-out, I didn't bother checking any price and thinking about it now, I don't even recall seeing any prices posted, but it wouldn't have mattered because my custom for my 1st or 2nd time in a place like this is to purposely not go over the prices because I don't want to be influenced one way or the other. I just order whatever it is I want and then decide after I've eaten as to whether or not I got a good value based on the cost, that way I feel my opinion is unbiased. Now keep in mind that I was alone and ordering just for me, but you sure wouldn't know that by the total she hit me with! I guess I could have canceled the order since nobody had started cooking anything yet. But here was my dilemma, if I did that in front of this extreme cutie on the register whom I had just been making innocent small talk with, then she's gonna know it was because of the price. And my pride just wasn't going to let that happen. So I put on an Oscar winning performance of not letting her see the shock on my face. I'm telling you man that Denzil Washington couldn't have put on a better acting job! So I calmly reached into my dip and handed her the requested amount, now in all fairness I did receive change, but I didn't even bother to count it, because at this point I was just grateful to get ANYTHING back. So, to summarize, based on the friendly service, the sparkling cleanliness of the restaurant, and the large portion of food I received, despite the hefty price-tag I would have to say that I did receive a good value and got what I paid for. Now I'm not telling you I will be coming here daily, because at these prices that Sho-Nuff won't be happening, however, I will find a way to work this joint into my rotation somehow and I encourage you to do the same.

Word of mouth is the best marketing tool. I found out about this place from co workers and IG. I have been three times and never had a bad experience. It's always worth my trip.

The place is small, but the food is really good. I had the salmon Caesar sub and pink lemonade. The menu is limited, but the food is good. The sub was delicious, a tiny bit greasy but not too much. I definitely want to try one of the platters next time.

I ordered the chicken platter w/ shrimp. My platter was Luke warm. The chicken had a burnt taste & it was also tough. Also the Cajun French bread had no Cajun flavor but instead it was halfway toasted & dry. A waste of 20 something dollars. Maybe the employees were not having a good day cause my food wasn't too tasty or made with love lol

My Review of @cafe_1137 : So I've been hearing so much about this spot seeing the delectable looking food on Instagram I decided I had to check it out. I had some extra time and was in the area so I decided to stop in for lunch...... Walk in place looks clean very colorful good music playing and. They had 2 high top tables and a small bar like counter where you could eat but I noticed no public restroom anywhere in site ( apparently not required by law ) so at this point I say to myself " OK this is a larger carry out as opposed to cafe or restaurant". Not a huge issue but its definitely notable. Looking at menu on the wall which was chalk and hand written very colorful and legiable. However the only thing that had an actual price next to it was the soup of the day. There was no printed menu either so if you're on a budget and unsure of what you want I suppose you have to ask the cashier for the price of each item until you decide. I get to the order counter the cashier was nice enough she wasn't overly perky but not rude either. I asked about the platter to ensure I understood what was included .Ultimately I ordered the salmon platter which was to include salmon ( obviously) rice, corn, crabmeat, and cafe 1137 special sauce for $18.99. This was at2:09 pm. So I sat and watched as other people came in ordered and started to notice that some of those people left before me. As time lapses we are now about 26 minutes in and the woman that ordered before me inquires as to her order. They say possibly a mixup and quickly bring her and my order to the window. By this point I'm ticked because it has been 30 minutes. So I'm thinking this food better be AWESOME..... I get to my destination try the dish which looks and smells delicious and I taste it I'm not over the moon about it but its kind of good. So let's break that part down : The rice crab corn sauce mixture was pretty tasty the sauce has a sweetness about it that complimented the corn and they give you a spicy Cajun bread to go with it that is the ying to the yang of the rice mixture. They gave a generous portion of Lump Crab however with that also came some large shells still attached to the crab ( see photo). Now let's talk about this salmon: Large piece which is a plus. However once you got past the outer crust was a little bland. I found myself after the initial bite dipping it into the cream sauce for some flavor. (I make salmon quite often and its really a meaty fish so I marinate for at least 30 minutes before cooking ) I wanted the fish to stand on its own 2 feet so to speak. I was looking for it to be the Beyonce of the meal but it was more like a Michelle. You know like its cool, its there but just not exciting really . Over all I was more than satisfied with the portion size for the price but definitely disappointed with the execution of the meal. As a Baltimorean I get it we typically like crab on anything but we also like to not choke and like our socks knocked off with flavor. I wish if it were normal for 30 minute wait for a dish they would've informed me before I completed my order as I was on my lunch break and might've got something that would've been done a little faster. My recommendation to Cafe1137 should they ever read this : 1. Get some printed menus with prices . 2. Put the prices on your chalk board. 3. If your not gonna meticulously pick the shells out the crabmeat put up a disclaimer so you don't get sued. 4)Marinate your protein 5) Turn down the music a little bit and concentrate establishing a relationship with every customer you're servicing. Now here's the million dollar question Would I go back ?? The answer is yes if and only if I'm in area , have an hour set aside , and have $20 bucks to spend. Otherwise not something I would really go out of the way for or crave..... I give it 2-2.5 out of 5 stars. Thanks for taking the time to read ( I know it was long) .

Today was my first time trying cafe1137 me and my girlfriends decided to meet there for our monthly girls day out and I must say I was blown away!!!! The phone was phenomenal And the portion was a good enough amount for 2 ppl to share, well anyway I ordered the stuffed salmon with 1137 sauce on the side since the cashier explained to me that it was the cafe homemade sauce for their signature platters and it was defiantly a hit with my stuffed salmon over rice!!!! My girlfriend tried the tilapia platter with her sauce on the side aswell and my other girlfriend tried to salmon sub and added crab and shrimp to make the ultimate "seafood sub" and when I tell u we all had some of each other food and sat in the cafe for a hr after finished only b/c we were to stuffed after all that good food omg that place is a hit only thing that I would say they need is a bigger establishment so that we can have dinner parties and business meetings, oh and kudos to the young lady on the cash register she was very patient and very pleasent even though I was very indecisive being as though it was my first time!!! I will certainly be back to bring my husband and my children aswell b/c I did notice kid friendly menu items aswell oh and their menu is on a chalk board wall I thought that was very creative and neat I wish I would have captured a picture of it! I hope my pics showed how good the food is

Tried their food for the first time today as I kept seeing their food posts on Instagram! I was not disappointed! This place is amazing. The staff was friendly and it was nice to see everything was being made by the order fresh so I didn't mind the little wait. Parking lot stinks when it is crowded but it is definitely worth it! Can't wait to come back!

Cafe 1137 is my favorite place to eat. The food is AMAZING....I think I've tried everything on the menu & I have no complaints about anything I've ever ordered.....ALWAYS satisfied!! The portions are perfect. The prices are reasonable. The staff is professional. The restaurant is very clean. Checking for the daily specials is pretty much a part of my daily routine.....always something new that pulls you to their front door. If you haven't been to cafe 1137 I suggest you get there soon. I'm not sure what you're waiting for but your missing out on something great.

On Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, my husband drove to Cafe 1137 from our home in Eldersburg. That's NOT around the corner. I called in the order (which came to almost $54 for two platters). We ordered Salmon Platters with shrimp which is REALLY OVERpriced. When my husband arrived home, I looked in the bag and noticed that there was no bread. Immediately, I was PISSED because I have never been there and not have some kind of issue. I would have checked the bag before I left the store but my husband hadn't had it before and didn't know the bread was missing. I called...asked to speak to a manager and he got on the phone. He says, "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Sir, this is your establishment. I can't tell you how to make good on poor customer service." He says, "You can come back and get .75 cents for the bread." I lost it! MOFO, are you kidding me??????????? Did you just hear me say that we live in Eldersburg.????? With the cost of gas and TIME it takes to get there, I was TOTALLY insulted. See, I try to support black businesses but this is what you get! I don't know what it was that I wanted to make me feel better, but .75 wasn't it. I mean, even if he said something like, "I'll give you 10% off on your next visit or a free beverage,"...SOMETHING! But, Cafe 1137 never has to worry about me again or the countelss number of folks that I referred there! Oh, and the food was OK...the sauce was just average (just heavy cream) but the salmon and shrimp were nicely seasoned.
